New Soap, Old Bottle

Here’s something pretty cool that seems SO obvious, after you’ve been shown the website of someone else who did it before you!

It’s cool, it’s affordable, and it seems like the obvious way forward.

I bring you: New Soap, Old Bottle.

What they do is buy new, apparently brand name soap in barrels and then repackage it in old post consumer bottles that they’ve bought off the general public.  You can register to sell your bottles back to them, place recurring orders, or even buy 5% in the company.  All the information is on their website.  Pretty clever stuff!

I wonder if my local Safeway will be carrying this anytime soon?  The one problem I see with cool, forward thinking things like this is that it becomes product for the environmental elite.  Why aren’t ingenious new products like this available to the everyday consumer at the grocery store?  Still, they are available, which is the real battle, and here’s a link so you can get yours!  If you do, please, by all means, let us know how it works!
